The measure

The Pre-Budget Report reconfirmed the rise in excise duty on fuel by 1p per litre as from 1 April 2010. This was previously announced in the April 2009 Budget as part of an annual rise of 1p per litre until 2013. The effective rate of duty for non-road fuels subject to rebated rates of excise duty will also increase in line with the duty on main road fuels
