Import and export of goods - powers of HMRC

Finance Act 2008 will introduce changes in legislation to clarify HMRC’s powers to open and unpack containers themselves, should they think it necessary, rather than insist that it is done by the owner of the goods.
 

Our view
This change will impact airport, port and transit shed operators as well as individuals and businesses involved in the importation and exportation of goods.
