Climate Change Levy (CCL) - relief for plastics
The measure
Certain plastic products manufacture facilities will be included within the Climate Change Agreement (CCA) scheme which provides an 80% CCL relief if specified energy consumption targets are met.
Who will be affected?
Some manufacturers of plastic products, although the list of which products are included is still to be published.
When?
The legislation is being drafted to be included within Finance Bill 2009 and so will be effective at Royal Assent.
Our view
This measure broadens the number of businesses eligible to negotiate CCAs and energy consumption targets.
